Fairweather was sub-contracted by InCommuities to provide supported housing for women with multiple needs. The Midstays Houses gave women, who were not yet ready for independent accommodation, an opportunity to develop their confidence and enhance their life skills before they move into the community. The accommodation and support were temporary. Women could live in the scheme for up to 2 years, or as long as she requires the housing support offered.
EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY:
The scheme was committed to delivering its services based on meeting the needs of individual residents. The houses promoted and celebrated a diversity of culture, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability.
We aimed to work with the women to develop an individual support package tailored to their needs, which will be regularly reviewed. We worked with women to provide help, advice and support in the following areas:
Training, education and/or employment
When the women were ready to leave, assistance will be given in finding suitable and appropriate move-on accommodation. Residents were offered help in completing housing application forms, liaison with housing providers, visits to prospective tenancies and applying for furniture grants.
