Working With Residents
If you
can spare a couple of hours a week or a few hours per month, you can
become part of a greater family, striving for a world free from
violence, abuse and judgement.
We value your time and aim to make best possible use of your skills
by assisting our residents with activities which will provide life
skills, drawing from your own experiences and enabling women and
children to move forward positively with their lives. Working with
women and children, volunteer activities could include:
n Working in the playroom providing
help and support to mums
n Helping women attend appointments
n Providing support and building
friendships for those who need it
most.
PLEASE NOTE:
We regret that some of our volunteer
opportunities will only be available to women where Sections 7(2)E
and 7(2)D of the Sex Discrimination Act exemption apply.
Due to the nature of some of the work, you may also be asked to
undertake a Police Check or CRB check. Any costs incurred for these
checks will be paid for by Fairweather. However we regret that we
are unable to accept volunteer applications from those who are not
willing to undertake such measures.
