About Fairweather
Fairweather in Brief fairweather
Fairweather is a registered charity, providing accommodation and
support services, in partnership with Yorkshire Housing Association.
We are funded by supporting People to provide support to women and
by Local Authority for the children services.
The organisation is run by the Board which is made up of voluntary
Directors who work closely with the Chief Executive to strategically
develop in line with the needs of the service users and the community.
The organisation currently has four funded schemes:
Direct Access
− 10 bed scheme accommodating homeless women and children.
Mental Health
− One 5 bedroomed scheme accommodating women experiencing mental
health problems.
Single Homeless
− 2 houses accommodating 7 single homeless women
Floating Support
− to between 15 and 18 women/families in the community.
All our schemes provide temporary support and deal with vulnerable
people who have complex needs.
Fairweather believes in enabling and empowering all involved within the
organisation. Residents are viewed as partners and are respected
equally, being encouraged to participate within the organisation. Staff
members are encouraged to develop personally and contribute
creatively to the organisation as a whole in addition to fulfilling their job
descriptions. Opportunities to contribute are given via supervision,
appraisal and within the full staff meetings. In addition there is the
opportunity for staff to take part in different working groups which
creates the opportunity for staff to develop in a variety of areas.
The organisation is an integral part of the voluntary sector within
Bradford area. Joint working and links with both voluntary and
statutory organisations are considered vital to Fairweather.
We welcome people into our organisation who are willing to work within
a team atmosphere and are prepared to work for the good of the
organisation as a whole. We also require staff to take responsibility for
fulfilling their own role independently. Flexibility and professional
conduct within an open constructively challenging environment are
nurtured.
